Unizin Ltd ("Unizin") shall treat all data that it receives from its school partner ("School"), individual faculty members or students, or that it is otherwise exposed to within School data systems in the course of providing the Unizin service and platforms, in compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
Unizin acknowledges that it may receive, or be exposed to, "education records" as that term is defined under the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), 20 USC 1232g et seq., and related regulations at 34 CFR Part 99. Unizin shall employ administrative, physical, and technical data security measures sufficient to meet the requirements of FERPA and any other applicable federal and state laws.
Both Unizin and the School shall be entitled to use data gathered during their business relationship for the purpose of evaluating student and faculty use of, and satisfaction with, the Unizin service and platforms, and Unizin may use the data to develop enhanced products and services.
Unizin will employ practices and technology designed to ensure the security of all School-supplied electronic and paper data accessed, used, maintained, or disposed of in the course of providing the Unizin services and platforms, but Unizin does not guarantee that such data will be completely secure from misappropriation by hackers or from other nefarious or criminal activities. Should a breach of Unizin's security occur that may result in unauthorized access to individually identifiable student or faculty data, Unizin shall immediately notify the School and shall cooperate with the School's investigation of and response to the incident. Except as otherwise required by law, Unizin shall not provide notice of the incident directly to the persons whose data were involved without prior written permission from School.
